Between August and November 2020, I was involved in a digital research project through the University of Melbourne’s Digital Studio. I worked with Dr. Catherine Kovesi on designing a website for her research project on Isabella d’Este, Marchesa of Mantua. She had used Titian’s portrait of the Marchesa as the starting point for her project, which made me feel like an Early Modern researcher all over again. It has been extremely enjoyable, a little bit of an escape from the extended lockdowns in Melbourne. Learning how a different discipline approaches a significant painting has also been methodologically insightful.
